Bad Advice about Taxes

So I had this illusration/graphic design instructor that said, "Oh you can deduct photoshop and illustrator from your taxes."... "Oh you can deduct your computer", "You can deduct books you purchase as inspiration." ... "You can deduct this... you can deduct that...." Everytime anything came up throughout the semester she'd add, "Don't forget, it's tax deductible!"

Then at the end of the semester she had us all over to her house for tea. She showed us her studio, her published work, and then she showed us a painting she did of the worst year of her life. It was a painting about being audited by the IRS. She said it was the single most horrific thing she'd ever gone through.

After that I sort of threw out all of the advice she gave about deducting everything.

The Brits call a vacation a "Holiday", so, since I am sick of Christmas already, I thought I'd draw my last real vacation... A trip to Hawaii with Nikki where we rented scooters and had a great time

This is my worst Illustration Friday submission yet. I just couldn't think of anything for "Imagine" that hasn't been done to death and I think what I chose to do was beyond my skills.

This is from a memory of taking an "air taxi" from Juneau to Glacier Bay and being terrified because the plane was so small and the mountains we were going through were so huge. I'd never been so terrified or felt so tiny in my life. The view was spectacular, but I kept thinking, "this is the part in the movie where the plane crashes and there are no survivors."

I'm officially an idiot!

I thought nobody was commenting on my illustrations anymore. It turns out that I had turned on "moderate comments" and that I needed to approve of all of the comments. Guess what? I had 27 comments waiting to be approved of. Now I feel really stupid.

I apologize for whining like a big baby and thanks to everyone for the comments!

It's like Christmas came early this year!

A few weeks ago I bought my cats a designer cat tree. I figured they needed and would enjoy one, and I finally found one that I wouldn't be too embarrassed to have in my apartment. I spent a lot of money for this, but I figured it was worth it since it was so cool looking and the cats would love it.



Well it came via Fedex yesterday and I set it up. They seem to be enjoying it so far...





In fact, they are so thankful to me for getting them this generous and thoughtful gift, they decided to give me a gift in return...
